Back Pin

Getting one’s back is the top priority on the ground. In this control position the opponent will be unable to attack with either strikes or submission techniques. He will also be completely open and helpless to your own blows, chokes, and arm locks.

This control position has you either on top, underneath, or seated behind an opponent. In each case, your chest and stomach makes contact with his back while digging in with your “hooks.” These hooks are secured when both feet are locked into the hips, allowing you to ride him nomatter which way he rolls and moves.
